GENE CAMPBELL has an Ontario Teacher's Certificate and Waldorf teacher certification and has taught from kindergarten to grade eight over a 30 year career. She is founder of Chiron, which, for the past ten years, has offered summer intensives as well as individual and parental counseling, Waldorf school mentoring, conferences and workshops. She has been a keynote speaker at conferences in both the United States and Canada. Gene is director of the Distance Foundation Studies Certificate Course offered through the Rudolf Steiner Centre in Toronto -- for those parents and teachers wishing to prepare for Waldorf teacher training or to study Rudolf Steiner's path of adult development underlying all things Waldorf. MEKENZIE ELLIS received her Early Childhood diploma from Confederation College, Thunder Bay in 2007. It was during this training that she was introduced to Waldorf education and the philosophy behind it. For the past four years she has been incorporating Waldorf methods into her home childcare while raising her one year old daughter. Concurrently, she has taken an Introduction to Biodynamics and brought Biodynamic practices to her family farm. She is currently working to complete her Foundations in Anthroposophy course in preparation for Waldorf teacher training next year. Mekenzie's true passion lies in working with young children as she understands that a healthy start is the foundation of all of life's endeavours.
KAILEY ELLIS-CHAPMAN graduated from a 4 year double honours in Political Science and Business Administration at Wilfred Laurier University in 2006. Her post-graduate work focused on Experiential Learning and International Support Work. It was during this time of self, adult, and community development learning that Kailey was introduced to Waldorf education. After her six week internship in southern Mexico working in remote indigenous communities supporting local sustainable development, Kailey sought out a second internship at the Mulberry Waldorf School in Kingston, Ontario ending in June 2011. Concurrently, Kailey completed an Introduction to Biodynamics course leading to the creation of her own Biodynamic farm garden. She works on her family farm in Prince Edward County and volunteers on her uncle's dairy farm. Kailey is currently completing her Foundations studies in Anthroposophy. She has developed a true passion for this philosophy and its support of human development beginning with our most precious gifts- children.
BRITTANY SHANNON born and raised in Prince Edward County, ON, Brittany Shannon has attained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Ottawa, and a certificate in Metal Sculpture from the Kootenay School of the Arts in Nelson, BC. She has worked as an art instructor in publically funded galleries, artist-run-centres, artists' material supply stores, and within the public school system. Brittany recently completed the first part of the Foundation Studies in Anthroposophy program offered by the Rudolf Steiner Centre of Toronto. Currently, she is enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program at Queen's University called Artist in the Community Education. Throughout this program she will be working with musicians, actors, writers, and other artists to further her knowledge of arts education.
